NM State Ends Trinity Forest Invitational

DALLAS, Texas – The NM State Women’s Golf Team finished the Trinity Forest Invitational in 14th place. With a packed field that included No. 23 Texas Tech, No. 38 UNLV and Dallas Baptist, the Aggies were pushed to their limits throughout the two-day event.

Alison Gastelum was the bright spot of the week for the Aggies, finishing in the top ten. After starting the final day with a tie for first place, Gastelum finished tied for eighth on Tuesday afternoon.

The Aggies will take nearly a month off before being back in action. Resuming their spring season on April 4, NM State’s next tournament will be the Cowgirl Classic, hosted by the University of Wyoming.

Third round

  • Alison Gastelum finished in the top ten on Tuesday, shooting an 80 on his final lap. The native of Chihuahua, Mexico finished tied for eighth place.
  • Meiji Tungprapunvong paced the Aggies in Tuesday’s round. The freshman from Bangkok, Thailand shot a 75 (+3) with a trio of birdies on the turn.
  • NM State finished its second and third rounds with just four players in the roster.
